There are various decks. Each deck has a sum of 78 cards of which 22 are major arcana or trumps. Some of these cards are The Lovers, The Pope, and The World... The other 56 cards or also called minor arcana, are divided into 4 suits of 14 cards each. The 4 suits are swords, cups, wands and pentacles. Different readers have their own favor decks.

Each card has an up-side and down-side interpretation. Upright card is positive, and reversed cards could be negative in many aspects. For example, the upright Fool would mean new chances while the reversed Fool could mean foolishness. The upright Magician would mean positive tendencies around situations; reversed Magician could mean deception, dishonesty or a warning of betrayals. The upright Chariot means triumph, while reversed card is associated with anger and domination.
