This is the official site for www.Freecycle.org a grassroots organization with the goal of matching unneeded items with someone looking for just that item. All listings are free and all items are free. Post a listing for some of the dust-gathering things in your attic and then surf the listings for the items on your list. All free. Freecycle wants to keep things out of the landfills while encouraging communities to help each other.

The Freecycle Network has 4,620 groups worldwide and 6,038,000 members. To join, you sign up with your local Yahoo Freecycle group - instructions are on the Freecycle website. This will give you access to review all the locally posted items and also to post items of your own. The recipient is expected to pick up or arrange for delivery of the items they are taking.

Whether you just want to clean out the clutter, or you want to help others in need, or if you have a need for items but no cash, or are just a true-blue environmentalist that wants to keep things out of the landfills (reuse and recycle), then Freecycle may be just the site for you.
