Fubar New York Is Fubar, Crushed by Crane Collapse
posted March 15, 2008 - 5:20pmFubar, a local bar on the East Side of Manhattan, was destroyed by a crane collapse that is said to have destroyed at least one building and partially collapsed another.
John LaGreco, the owner of Fubar, told the Associated Press that be thought one of the bar's employees was in the rubble. Fubar is on the ground floor of 305 E. 50th St., one of the buildings that was destroyed.
“Our bar is done,” he said. “The crane crashed the whole building. If I wasn’t watching a Yankees game, I would’ve come to work early and gotten killed.” The link below goes to the Web site for Fubar.
Ironically, the name "Fubar" is an old Army expression that's an acronym for "f***ed up beyond all recognition."
The bar known as Fubar now truly is fubar.
