1. Playing tennis on a regular basis can keep heart diseases at bay as it exercises your muscles and helps in lowering blood pressure levels.

2. Dancing is a fun way to burn calories. It boosts energy, improves blood circulation and tones muscles.

3. If you have an adventurous streak, try rock climbing. It is an excellent funfilled activity for improving cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility and concentration.

4. Cycling is an effective and enjoyable form of exercise which leaves you breathing heavily but not totally out of breath. Cycling not only helps to have strong bones but also fights ageing signs. Research studies have also found that it is beneficial to reduce the risk of heart diseases. According to the British Heart Foundation , cycling at least 20 miles per week reduces the risk of coronary heart disease to less than half that for non-cyclists.

5. Swimming helps tone up the upper and lower body and de-stresses the clinched muscles. When you swim vigorously, you use almost all the major muscles of the body, even heart muscles, in a combined way.

6. Yoga has an important role in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. It is an exceptional form of exercise that de-stresses your mind and tones your body at the same time. Regular yoga helps control blood pressure levels by improving blood circulation.

7. Martial arts, such as kickboxing or taekwondo, are beneficial in getting into shape, maximising heart rate, building strength and endurance.
