Fun Halloween Balloon Craft
posted October 14, 2009 - 6:40pmOne day, while playing with balloons with my kids, we came up with an easy and fun halloween craft that even my two year old can do!! After creating these halloween characters we hung them from the ceiling for halloween decorations. Also they could be left free to use for fun games or free play for your kids! It was a fun craft to do together as a family and we had a great time! Hope you enjoy.
Time: This activity could take from 10 minutes to as long as you want depending on how detailed you want your balloons to be.
Supplies:
1. Assortment of balloons different shapes and sizes.
2. Markers; we found dry erase markers worked the best but any marker would probably work.
Optional
3. Googly eyes, tissue paper, feathers, glue and tape, or any other decroation you might want to add. We just stuck to markers cause it was easier for shorter attention spans.
Directions: very simple :)
1. Blow up desired color of balloon to the size you want.
2. Draw and color the character on the balloon. Some examples of balloons you could create are the following:
Green balloon for frankenstein, purple balloon for a vampire,
white balloon for a
ghost or skull, red balloon for a devil, off white balloon for a mummy, black balloon for a bat, orange
ballloon for a pumpkin.
Optional
3. Add any extra decorations you want for extra detail on your balloons.
Note: Even though we hung our balloons from the ceiling some we turned knot side down and hung them that way so we could fit the whole face on the wider part of the balloon.
I just gave my two year old markers and let him scribble on his balloons however he wanted to and he called them monsters and ghosts. They actually looked pretty good as ghosts and monsters and he was very satisfied and proud of them also! I just had to help him with they eyes on the ghost.
Have fun!!
