Funny and Weird Games to Play

Funny and Weird Games to Play

I'll share with you another reason why I love games made by very small developers...some of them are so ridiculously strange. It's nice to play something different than the typical cookie-cutter games pumped out by the big developers, even if the plots are ludicrous. If you want some weirdness for a change when you game, here are some very unusual games that I've really enjoyed.

Betty's Beer Bar

Neroli's Comment: If you're easily offended, don't play...it involves serving nuns and politicians beer until they pass out. You even get cursed out if the service is slow (in suitably censored @&%! text). Whatever your feelings on the topic, it was one of the earliest time management games which helped launch the whole genre.

Plants vs. Zombies

Neroli's Comment: You've got to love any game that involves running over zombies with a lawnmower. This game has you using garden equipment to fend off an attack of the undead. Who thought this up? The plot is crazy, but the game is great.

Youda Baby Blimp.jpg

Youda's Baby Blimp

Neroli's Comment: Oh, the joys of parenthood. In Baby Blimp, you assemble babies in a machine and launch them out of a blimp at their expected parents. It's dangerous for the storks, who get pelted with ice by child-free neighbors, and ridiculously tough at higher levels, but addictive. This is a Youda game, and pretty much anything by Youda is different.

Mr Jones Graveyard Shift.jpg

Mr Jones' Graveyard Shift

Neroli's Comment: When Mr Jones girlfriend demands he produces lots of money (and sexy beach shorts), he decides to turn his new home into a cheap graveyard. You play by digging and decorating the graves. The controls are a bit awkward, but the concept is so strange that it's worth playing.

World of Goo.jpg

World of Goo

Neroli's Comments: You've probably heard of this game. It's based on physics, and has you building towers and bridges to get your gooballs into a pipe. The story is totally bizarre, and it's full of dry humor. This game is beyond brilliant....definitely a new classic.

Will have to try these...

Thanks for pointing them out. I'm known to play a game or two to pass away some time.

Yeah, I can only play World

Yeah, I can only play World of Good for a few rounds at a time, and then my brain hurts, lol. I got addicted though. :)

Plants vs Zombies was a huge success on the game charts...it's surprising, because casual game fans don't usually like action as much as hardcore gamers.

Nice selection!

I've only played World of Goo and Plants vs Zombies. I LOVE Plants vs Zombies! It's not just a defense game but also has many puzzle mini games. There's so much to do and so many different ways to play that it's hard to be bored with it. The plot and characters are definitely interesting too.  Not just that but it has one of the best defense gameplay I've ever experienced.

I don't know what to say about World of Goo other than it's cute and funny. It's not my kind of game but I wouldn't say it's bad either haha! I'm not a physics game type person so wrong person to ask about it xD.

I gotta try the other games hehe

Great games!

Great games!
