Gardens In The Sand

Gardens In The Sand

On the dunes of this desert shore
Parched by years of greed & conflict
The north-easterlies weave patterns
Learnt perhaps an incarnation ago
Over the exquisite rock gardens of Kyoto.

Amidst the debris of invasion & occupation
The chiaroscuro of blood & oil spills
Weave a carpet of Rorschach blots on the sand
Inviting us to project onto the undulating dunes
The anthers and the petals of pain and
Anguish and perhaps forbidden hopes too
Hidden in the dark recesses of our hearts
