Garnett, Pierce, Allen Impressive in Celtics' Season Opener
posted November 3, 2007 - 1:08amThe Boston Celtics have a new spring in their step this season, with a reloaded lineup that is hoping to go far into the postseason.
The acquisitions of Ray Allen and especially of Kevin Garnett have given the Celtics potent new scoring threats along with longtime Celtic Paul Pierce, and the talents of all three were on display Friday night as the Celtics beat Washington 103-83 in Boston.
Pierce was high scorer for Boston with 28 point, but it was Kevin Garnett who put on a show with a remarkable debut for the Celtics: 22 points, 20 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals.
Ray Allen added 17 points for the Celtics on 5-10 shooting.
