Amnesia

People forgot those times so quickly. Once the price of oil went down, those bad times faded from memory. What was forgotten even sooner was Bush's State of the Union message only year or two ago when he chastised the U.S. for being "addicted to oil." Sadly, his administration's funding for alternative energy has been pretty paltry since then, especially considering the breaks being given to oil companies. I hear plenty of people say, "I'd like to try solar energy, but it's so expensive." Well, if the government gave more tax breaks, rebates, etc. for alternative fuels, it wouldn't be so expensive! And the prices would drop as more people adopted it.

I think most people would agree with you.

See how the public gets lured back into the oily web? It amazes me how alternative fuel development progresses so slowly. It's not something new that people are talking about. This was an issue that was talked about in the 70's. I would figure that while other technology advances so quickly so would alternative energy...unless of course there is something holding it back.

Gas crisis
