Gas Prices - Do They Make Any Sense?
posted April 10, 2008 - 12:34amIs anyone else just scratching their heads over this? Does anyone realize that just over a year ago the price for a barrell of oil was under $50? It has NEVER went over $50! EVER!
Currently, the oil prices are hovering around the $108 mark. Has the demand doubled over the last
eyar? Has the supply decreased by half since last year? All I know is that money is being made hand over fist. Our good ole Arab allies are raking it in. I'm sick and tired of hear that this was a long time coming becasue of inflation. I'm tired of hearing that a rain shower is passing over oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico so the price jumped $3.
And why hasn't there been ANY new refineries made in the last 30 years? I have an idea, let's give big oil more tax breaks so they can break their record-breaking profits of last year and this year. I love how they all went to Congress saying there was nothing wrong with the profits. Then why do they need the tax breaks?
This all stinks of corrupt governments, especially the American one. You can't tell me that we don't have the technology to make more fuel efficient engines. You can't tell me that we can't develope less expensive alternatives. We can send satellites to everywhere, land robots on Mars but we can't find a different means of fuel.
I'm sick of it? Aren't you?!?
