Gay Heinz Ad

Gay Heinz Ad

When I first saw this commercial there was Heinz's phone number attached to it, so I called. A woman answered, and before I could say much, she blirted out really fast that Heinz is not promoting gays. I said, "yes they are". I told her that I would not buy Heinz products anymore. I also told her that I would tell people about this advertisement, so here it is. Some people will probably buy Heinz even more, but that's their perogative. It may seem like I hate gay people, but I don't. I do feel that they're being too pushy.

It's god's standard

We don't have to watch that kind of stuff on T.V. to be exposed. Read my other comment what I told the other person. They had plenty exposure at school, and it's God's standard. I'm glad to create such controversy, and just remember how you got here. Ha Ha! Sherry Grimes

Lick away

Your friend licking your ear doesn't bother me at all, and I'm not uptight as you seem to think, and if you don't agree with me, that's o.k. too. I'm not here to change anyone, and I'm not here to be changed. I have a brother that's gay, and I love him, but not what he does. My kids have had plenty of exposure, so I can't say that they are shielded, which was your words. If teenagers are giving each other hugs in school, they get into trouble for P.D.A., public display of affection. I told my daughter that she can hug her friends anytime that she wants to, but my kids have walked down the halls at school and have seen two guys french kissing. There's something wrong with this picture. So lick away! Sherry Grimes

Irony

"My children and grandchildren shouldn't be subjected to this" About the only viable solution, I guess, would be to get rid of your TV -- or not allow your children to watch it. Not everyone subscribes to what is taught in the Bible. By suggesting that ads that you claim promote homosexuality not be allowed on television you are essentially saying that advertising should be held to your standard or belief system. Can you see the irony in your position? Personally, I agree with wHATUP's first take on the commercial. It's most likely a "personna" that's being portrayed. Either way, I thought it was amusing. ↑ Grab this Headline Animator

But, BUT

did you get what I was saying about this not being a gay ad at all? Or did you choose to ignore that part? And believe what you want - more power to ya. But do you really want to keep hidden these images? Wouldn't you rather have these images so it can promote a discussion between your family? You could honestly address why you believe two men kissing in an ad depicting what may or may not be a gay couple is wrong. Isn't that a tremendous opportunity to drive home your message? Or is shielding your children that important to you? And I understand if it is - hard conversations are just that - hard. Unfortuately, I cannot support you on censoring anything based on what you believe is an affront to your religion - i.e. because the bible says so. Let me show you this image. Obviously taken in jest for neither of us (yes that is me in the pic) are gay nor do either of us want to be. We just thought it was a funny pic. Does this challenge your religion as well? How is this different (if it does not) from the ad? [img_assist|nid=348307|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=340|height=227] Visit my homepage here

Gay Heinz Ad

All I can say is read the bible. According to God, it's an abomination to HIM. I love the sinner, but hate the sin, just like God does. This world is getting messed up more all the time on what's right and what's wrong. My children and grandchildren shouldn't be subjected to this, but we're in the last days, so things like this will happen. We either believe all of God's word, or none of God's word. We're not supposed to pick and choose what we want out of the bible to fit our lifestyle. James & Sherry Grimes

Sorry Sherry

I have to disagree with you - I think. While I believe it is your right to protest anything you do not believe in, I would say there is a little hatred in there somewhere. What made you call? I believe the ad can be seen two ways - one is that this New York deli man/personna has embodied the mother when she uses this New York style mayo (I don't know if the children would call him mom otherwise). Two it shows an average morning of a gay couple who uses the mayo. With the use of the costume - I saw it as the former and it actually made me laugh a little. But I guess two men kissing is more that you can take in your Heinz ads. Protest away but I think you may have jump the gun a little on this one. Visit my homepage here
