George Bernard Shaw Was Right, This Is Where the Other Planets Exile Their Loonies
posted December 31, 2008 - 7:32pm Having just read my latest installment on the “anals” of humanity a friend was moved to add one of her own observations in her own occupation. A librarian, she explained that this week she was helping a husband and wife make photocopies and explained to them that the price
of this service was thirty cents. The wife answered that she only had twenty three cents. She turned to her husband who said, “I can’t help you either because I only have forty three cents”. Just what do you say to such people?
She had previously told me that customers will come in all the time and say such insipid things as, “Do you have books here?” Remember she works in a library! A retired post master told me that people would come to him frequently and ask why they have to pay for the stamps. They would further argue with him for an explanation as to why they didn’t get mail that day.
No, there’s no problem here. Everything is just fine…provided the world is an open door mental institution.
