Georgia "Bigfoot" - A Confirmed Hoax

Georgia "Bigfoot" - A Confirmed Hoax

We've probably all seen the picture floating around of the "Georgia Bigfoot" stuffed in a freezer. And, many of us were probably anxiously awaiting the results from the press conference that was scheduled on August 15th.

Well, here's the 'scoop', so to speak. That 'creature' stuffed in a freezer? It's a Halloween costume. That's right folks, it's a complete sham.

Steve Kulls, who has spent the better part of his adult life looking for evidence of the legendary bigfoot, was able to examine the 'body', frozen in ice, and was concerned about the authenticity of the 'corpse'. As it thawed, he was able to get a hair sample, and discovered that it wasn't real hair.

He then contacted the owner of searchingforbigfoot.com, Tom Biscardi, who gave Kulls permission to thaw the 'body' quicker in an effort to more readily discover whether or not the body was real.

As it thawed more completely, Kulls was able to confirm, without a doubt, that the corpse had a rubber foot. Upon confirmation of this, Kulls contacted Biscardi, who in turn contacted the people who allegedly found the bigfoot, Ricky Dyer and Matthew Whitton (a police officer in Georgia). They confirmed that it was all just a big hoax.

Biscardi attempted to get them to sign a confession and give him back the money he paid for this whole sherade (as they agreed to do, via phone, and set up an appointment for), but when he reached their hotel room, Dyer and Whitton had already gone. Where the heck they think they're going to be able to hide, with the national (perhaps even international) attention this little scam has garnered (at their encouragement, I might add) is beyond me.

The motives of these men (other than money) are still unknown. But, seriously, why insist on a press conference and hand over a Halloween costume as a body, if you're thinking you might be able to keep the money??

Halloween and Possums don't mix

As soon as I heard the DNA results a week ago, I knew the game was up. Possums, unless there is some secret government genetic cross-breeding project, aren't close in evolution to a man-ape Bigfoot. The costume just clinched it. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

Hoping It Was Real

I was hoping it was real, because I didn't think anyone would hold a press conference over a Halloween costume, and it's not even April Fools. But seriously check out this "real animal" http://www.xomba.com/meet_yoda_the_cat_with_four_ears
