Is Sony finally trying to reach out to the female gamers? 
Well, if the picture in the link of a Lilac PSP is any indication, I would say
so.  Sony has also launched the "Girlz Play Too" initiative where female gamers can learn more about the PSP and take quizes made for girlz.

I think Sony has a pretty long way to go if they want to catch up with
Nintendo when it comes to attracting female gamers.  My wife and both
of my sisters have picked up and played my Nintendo DS countless times
while they haven't even thought of playing the PSP.  A new color isn't
going to be the deciding factor, Sony really needs to expand their
library to attract and accomodate female gamers
