Glenn Beck: My New Voice of Reason
posted October 31, 2006 - 5:03pmI found a new "voice of reason" in politics. Yes, I'm a Conservative. Yes, I'm a Republican. So naturally, my "heroes" should be the Rush Limbaughs and the Bill O'Reilly's of the political world. But that's not as true as it used to be. Lately, those kinda people have become nothing more than George W. Bush "yes-men." Which, if that's their agenda and it gets them ratings, that's fine.
For awhile, my voice of reason was the outspoken Michael Savage. Now he is awesome. He makes Rush Limbaugh's conservatism look more like Michael Moore. And the beauty of Savage is that he's not at all afraid to say it or speak his mind. I once heard him tell a caller, "You're too stupid to listen to my show. I forbid you from listening to my show ever again. And if I find out that you're listening, I'm gonna stay quiet until you turn the dial to a different station!"
But my new voice is Glenn Beck. While he's still a conservative, he's not the "fair and balanced" FOX News-type conservative. He actually does seem to be fair. He appeals to both sides while also pointing out the weaknesses of both sides of the spectrum. He's not all about furthering either party's agenda, but rather displaying the faults with the agenda of each side. Both parties are only united on their hatred for one another...and that's the only thing they thrive on. While both parties only care about destroying the other, they are destroying the country at the same time.
This is Glenn Beck's ideology.
