Also this article doesn't note the claim Gore makes that he buys some of his energy from renewable sources to reduce his carbon footprint. A much bigger logical hole in this argument is that it doesn't compare how the homes, and properties, may be used. Maybe Gore has employees who work in his mansion? That would greatly increase the energy use, since you'd potentially have people using computers, copy machines, etc. 8 hours a day or more. The article also compares the Bush house without saying anything about the energy use of his whole complex--the Bushes own a whole ranch, after all. How much pollution does his fertilizer produce? How many outbuildings are on the complex? Is the Bush ranch actually producing any salable or usable products, or it is just a big, expensive, energy-consuming, and polluting hobby?
