Globalization Partakes Translation: An indispensable tool for transcending communication

The globalization process resulted in enhanced communication in every strata and area of activity. Further, Internet revolutionized the information transfer and retrieval and communication paced up. Today, we are communicating in variety of environments, multiplicity of races, cultures, rituals and languages. Every language stores colossal information about a particular country, their cultures and traditions. This information needs to be understood and analyzed by people of other cultures and races in their native language, simply to pacify their quest and hunger for knowledge.

Language is the key to social, industrial, economic and technical development of world. Language, which if not understood or misunderstood, by masses dies with flux of time and so does the knowledge that it contains.

Most of the knowledge in the modern world has generally been scripted in the English language that needs to be communicated to those who don’t understand alien language, other than their native language. Likewise, translating from other lesser known languages to either Modern English, American English and or other Englishes is also not less cumbersome a task. For an effective communication to happen, knowledge should be delivered in a common understandable language, which is understood by people of that cultures and country. Hence, the need for translation, with translators forming the warp and woof of this process.

It is the job of a translator to clearly outline in simple words, what the original document or transcript in native language wants to convey. A competent and reliable translator is a catalyst in transferring knowledge effectively from one language to another. Also, a competent translator should be familiar and adroit with the translation process and the translation strategies that need to be used while translating from one language to another.
