Gmail Custom Time - To Err Is Human, To Correct It Divine

Ever heard of time stopping. Even Google can't do that, so they have come up with the next best thing.

In this fast paced world and nerve wrenching work pressure there are so many times one forgets to do things on time, most importantly wishing people on time on their birthdays, anniversaries, successes and even for saying sorry. With close relationships it is sometimes too late. Gmail has come up with the solution where you can back date your emails, rather write in the past.

In your Gmail account click on 'set custom time'. And select the date and time of your choosing. Hit the send button and that's it. Your mail will appear in the recipient's address as per the chronological order of all the mails in the 'inbox' giving the recipient a feeling that they overlooked the mail.

You can't make it a habit though since they will allow only 10 such mails per year. If they were to allow more than 10 it would probably lead to people losing trust in the email system. There are some ethical issues involved like misleading or manipulating people, but then as long as you are only trying to make someone feel good, a little time tampering will not hurt.

Try it out the next time you forget someone's birthday or anniversary.
