GOP Convention: The Grand Old Party Could Use a Brand New Webmaster
posted September 3, 2008 - 12:31pmMaybe the Grand Old Party needs a set of reading glasses... or a good proofreader. I just visited the Web site of the Republican Party Convention, www.gopconvention.com, to find out the latest details on everybody's new favorite Internet superstar, Sarah Palin.
There on the front page it listed News & Media, with the first item reading:
"The Courge and Service of John McCain
Speech by Fred Thompson"
"Courge"? Maybe this is a new abbreviation the Republicans are using to save taxpayer dollars by eliminating the user of unnecessary letters. Or maybe it's a typo.
Well, the mistake is embarrassing, but it could have been worse--it could have read "The Scourge and Service of John McCain."
Elsewhere on the convention's home page, it reads:
" PROSPERITY
Please check back for schedule updates."
I guess prosperity isn't on the schedule yet? I definitely want to know when prosperity will be scheduled, because I could use some of that.
Also, when I click on "Schedule," it takes me to the list of speakers for Sept. 2nd (which was yesterday).
Now I don't think it's a big deal that John McCain doesn't use the Internet, but maybe he needs to find a few more people on his staff who are a bit more proficient in using the online world.
Until then, I'll be looking forward to finding out about the GOP's platform of courge, srvice, and prosprty.
