Government Surplus Goods – How to Buy & What is Available

Did you know that there is quite a bit more to Government Surplus than the uniforms, holsters, ammo cans and the other assorted odds and ends at your local Surplus Store? You can get anything from aircraft parts, vehicles and industrial equipment to home and office furniture, exercise equipment and electronics and just about everything in-between.

1. You can contact your closest Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) office to find out what they have available, information on their scheduled sales and requirements for purchase or visit them online at

2. You can go online to visit and register with Government Liquidation the exclusive partner of U.S. Department of Defense for the sale of Military Surplus at over 250 Locations Nationwide

3. Contact any of these other organizations that sell surplus or seized property on and offline: U.S. Treasury, U.S. Marshalls Service, U.S. Department of Energy, General Services Administration (GSA), State and Local Government offices, and even the United States Postal Service (USPS) which auctions off unclaimed, damaged, and claim-paid merchandise from their Mail Recovery Center.

The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) is part of the Department of Defense and has offices throughout the United States and overseas. Their mission is to find ways to redistribute inventory within the Department of Defense, transfer goods to other governmental agencies, donate to schools, community organizations and other non-profit groups. The remaining inventory is sold off to the public.

Government Liquidation, LLC auctions off property from 250 warehouses in all states other than Tennessee, the Carolinas and Hawaii. Teamed up with the U.S. Department of Defense for the sale of military surplus including, but not limited to, vehicles, boats, military uniforms, medical & dental equipment, computer hardware, electronics, tools and machinery.
