Governor of Idaho Uses Big Red Veto Stamp to Veto 35 Bills in Two Days
posted April 22, 2009 - 1:51pmThe Governor of Idaho, C.L. "Butch" Otter used his big red veto stamp to veto 35 separate bills over a two day period earlier this week. He is disappointed with the house not passing a highway transportation bill which includes a small tax increase on gasoline. The legislature is only in session for a few months each year, and this session is now the second longest session on record. By vetoing the bills the governor is forcing the legislature to stay longer in Boise. I think its safe to say most of these people are ready to go home. I wonder if the Governor will win, or if these bills will be passed by supermajority?
