Governor John DeJongh Remains Silent on the Rising Crime Stats in the Virgin Islands

December 3, 2007, - Governor John DeJongh's popularity rose after a press conference that was held on Friday, November 30, 2007, in regards to his dissatisfaction with the Waste Management Authority and their environmental user fees.

Many Virgin Islanders are still waiting on the Governor to address the rising crime rate in the territory. Residents homes have been burglarized in record numbers and homicides are out of control.

Widespread community dissatisfaction of the Police Department and Commissioner James McCall, was voiced by residents on a local radio talk show "Beloved", hosted by radio personality Mario Moorehead. Citizens are not happy with crime and some called for the Governor to fire McCall for non-performance.
