Sushil Kumar not only made India proud, but also got huge rewards instantly. First it was the Railway Ministry and the Delhi Government who gave him Rs. 1.04 cr. Another Rs. 55 are coming his way. The Railway Minister Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav promoted him from ticketing inspector to Assistant Commercial Manager. Then the Dehli Chief Minister announced Rs. 50 lakh.
Steel Minister Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan too was not behind. He announced Rs. 25 lakh. A private company (name not known) promised to give Rs. 5 lakh.
As far as the first golden boy of the Olympic Games is concerned, Abhinav Bindra too has good news. The IT Department has announced that his prize money - around Rs. 4 Crore - would be non-taxable. This is because he is an amature sportsperson. As his discipline is not considered professional here in India.
