Green and Home Made Fruit and Vegetable Washing Tonic Recipes
RECIPE# 1- Simple Wash
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 3 cups of filtered water
- 3 tablespoons of white distilled or apple cider vinegar nbsp;
Instructions:
Just mix the water, vinegar and baking soda together in a spray bottle, bucket or pail. Spray the new tonic on the fruits and vegetables.
This is especially great for vegetables that are eaten with skin like potatoes, cucumbers, peaches, grapes and apples.
If you choose to use a pail or bucket simply soak the vegetable or fruit inside.
After you finish using your tonic you can strain it and use it multiple times.
Rinse the fruit or vegetable and enjoy!
Recipe #2-Oxygen Wash
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of filtered water
- 1.3 cups of hydrogen peroxide
Instructions:
Mix together the water and peroxide.
Empty into a bottle, pail or bucket.
If you choose to spray just rinse the tonic off the vegetables or fruit before eating or preparing.
For bucket or bowl, drain out tonic for multiple uses.
Recipe #3 - Extra-Strength Lemon Peel Wash
Recipe #4 Lemon Peel Concentrate and Produce Wash
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons of white vinegar or apple cider
- 4 cups of filtered water 2 tablespoons of HOMEMADE lemon peel concentrate
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 4 drops of grapefruit seed extract
Ingredients:
Mix all your ingredients together until the baking soda has dissolved. Pour in your spray bottle if you wish to spritz your fruits and veggies or soak in bucket or bowl. Don't forget to rinse your fruits and vegetables before eating or preparing.
Ingredients:
- 4 Organic Lemons
- 1 Cup Vodka
Instructions:
Scrub your lemons with water. Then Peel away the yellow part of the skin (Zest) and chop it fine.
Place the chopped peel in a glass jar that has been washed and cover it with the Vodka.
Close the jar tight and let it sit for two weeks. When two weeks pass strain out any solid material and you are ready to use the concentrate.
To make your produce wash simply dilute 2 tablespoons of the concentrate in each quart of water.
You can add it right into your spray bottle or into your bowl. Remember to rinse your fruits and veggies before attempting to eat or cook it.
PLEASE NOTE: These tonics should be placed in a tight jar if you would like to use for multiple uses and must be kept away from direct sunlight. Keep in an area that is room Temperature.

Find a pretty glass bottle in a flea market or thrift shop to put your concentrate in.
Add curly fresh lemon peel. Use a fruit and veggie Peeler. You can find them at most dollar stores.
