Grounding Meditation

Here’s a short grounding mediation I like to do on a regular basis.

Here's a short grounding meditation I like to do.

Ideally, you should be sitting comfortably with your feet flat on the floor.  It should be quiet or some soft comforting music can be in the background.  Take a few deep breaths in, hold each for a couple of seconds, then breathe out slowly.  If any thoughts come to your mind, just let them float away – you can deal with them later.  Focus on your breathing and on relaxing your body.  Once you’ve established a nice rhythm, go on.

Imagine you're sitting in a forest full of majestic trees.  Their beauty and their wisdom beckon you and the gentle breeze from their branches caresses you.

Now imagine there are roots slowly growing out of your feet and your body is getting heavier and heavier during this process.  The roots are growing into the ground, deeper and deeper until they reach the center of the earth.  Imagine this center as a warm ball of pure energy.  Now, feel this warm energy moving slowly up through the roots and into your body until it is a continuous force moving through your body, to the center of the earth, and back again, over and over and over.  Reflect on how this is the same energy that feeds all living things, and see the trees reflecting this glow.

 Now open your eyes.

NOTE:  The more you do this the easier and quicker it will be to do just about anywhere.  You will also begin to notice when you need to do this.
