Halloween and Parenting

Halloween is a fun holiday for children and adults. A child you can pick out or help design a costume. Then he can go around the neighborhood and  get lots of tasty treats. Parents get to help prepare thier child's costume and help their her decide what to be. Of course grown ups can dress up and pretend to be someone else as well. Adults without children can still share in the festivities. They are visited by children in the neighborhood that are virtually unknown to you. Also if they have a sweet tooth today is the day where they get to indulge and have some candy.

Today I took my 23 month old trick or treating. She went as a bumblebee. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the experience of walking around the neighborhood and getting tasty treats. She was a little relunctant at first but soon she began to understand. Besides candy she also got some money, pretzels, cheeseballs and juice. At times she wanted to open the pretzels or juice but she was good through it. After walking for awhile my husband did have to bring us the stroller so she could sit. It was fine but I was a little tired when I got home. I thought my daughter might be tired when we got home and want to nap. However, she has stayed up for the last few hours and doesn't show signs of going to sleep just yet.
