Children today enjoy trick or treating and the entire Halloween holiday. But, I know what they are missing out on. The freedom and safety we had as kids, the really special homemade treats and the fun of a wonderous holiday in which we ran the streets with hardly a parent in sight.

With the changing world we live in, safety has to be a major factor in trick or treating or any childrens activity for that matter. While I understand and even applaud these safety measures parents take to care for their children, I do wish they could experience the holiday in the way that we enjoyed it.
