Halloween Poem: A Ghost's Perspective
posted October 16, 2009 - 5:00pmA Ghost’s Perspective
You perceive me not, though I touch your face
No longer whole, I am empty
space
The night lends chance for you to see
The specter that you know is me
I ride the energy of a lightening storm
To reach your world, to keep you warm
You turn away from my cold stroke
No longer mortal, my body broke
The supernatural noise you hear
Is my only way to show I’m near
Normal though it is for me
You look right past…you refuse to see
I walk your world now as a spirit
I am still of it, but not quite near it
Perpetual, though, I will stay
Just not among your human fray
I doubt if many people think about ghosts from their perspective. A spirit is on the outside looking in and I often think how sad that could feel. While most spirits transtion to the otherside without delay...many remain trapped between the two worlds. This is what I based my poem on.
