Handling Your Own Writing Business

Handling Your Own Writing Business

When it comes to learning something new, some people seem to step right into the new gig as if they have been doing it forever. Things fall into place. Things f-l-o-w.

Still others stumble and sometimes fall. They get back up, take a few baby steps, and fall again. Most of the time those people will persevere and exert extreme focus to learn the skill.

Both types of people eventually become successful, even if the latter group takes a bit longer to get there.

For the people in the latter group, when it comes to learning to write articles online that are search engine optimized and properly publicized, I exhort you to focus on what you are learning. Expend your energy learning and trying new things and learning from the small failures.

In other words, don't worry about what other writers are doing. Don't worry about the fact that the other writers seem to get more reads or that they are receiving more acclaim for their articles. Don't worry about anything.

There are only two things you can control in the Internet writing world: your attitude and the quality of your article. If your attitude is subpar, your writing will suffer and no one will want to read your article.

Believe that there is enough prosperity for well-written articles to go around, take care of your writing business, and see yourself succeed according to the goals you have set.

You can do it.

I'll be rolling it out on June 1

Thank you, Hellcat, for your comment and kind words! My plan is to roll out my abridged catalog of favorite articles on June 1, which is my two-year anniversary. It won't be a "homepage" so much as it will be a Xombyte with the links laid out on it. Wdzzz and Helenkw both have great examples of layouts, though. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

Yay, cheers for this 'byte. Y'know, I'm finding myself looking forward to the next bit of advice/words of encouragement from Jdub and I'm never disappointed. On a slightly different note, I've been considering/working on doing my own homepage for Xomba; - I can't seem to find your one though, Jdub. I wanted to have a look at it for lay-out inspiration but can't seem to locate it. Is it still okay to create Xomba homepages?

Thank you, kindly

That has been my general writing theme: writing about writing and about how writers can write. As soon as the new site goes live, there will be a user knowledge base and we writers can share experiences to help each other get better at what we do. I'm not exactly new to writing online, but I still learn a thing or two each day. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

Good Advice

I will take your advice and see what happens. I noticed you have a few articles regarding Xomba writing and it seems you have certainly learned alot just by writing. So hopefully one day I can give my suggestions to other people. In the meantime, thank you for the advice. +1

Write now, Clicks later

Thank you for your comment. Finding the right reader right away is one of those areas that I put out of my mind. The Internet ether is deep and dark and not everything we write today is going to find the people we need to read it right away. All we can do is write the best article which we are able and trust that it will find the right readers who will click the ads for us. Honestly, I would rather have zero reads for a year and ten clicks in month 13 than a hundred reads each month and no clicks. Believing that there is someone out there who needs and wants the information in our articles is half the job. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

Okie English spoken here

I've traveled all of this great country and have visited many countries and have learned to appreciate the different dialects of English in their written and spoken forms. Now, if we could get Google's algorithm to be a little more forgiving when it comes to dialects, we could all be ourselves. LOL Thanks for your comment! CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

Readers

You have certainly encouraged me to keep writing regardless of the lack of audience.
