Hannah Montana Ticket Contest Winner-Rally a Loser

The Hanna Montana ticket contest winner is really a loser. A six-year old girl loses tickets after lying on an essay that her father died in Iraq.

The girl won, but apparently thre was no dead father.The mother claims it was not her intention to decieve but to win the contest for her daughter who idolized Hannah Montana.

She further says it is a complete misunderstanding, that she used poor judgement while trying to do something good for her daughter.

Watching the mother on TV complain she didn't mean to decieve doesn't make it okay to keep the tickets. I have heard people say that the essay didn't have to be non-fiction, but I think the mother knew exactly what she was doing. If she wanted to do something good for her daughter, than teaching her how to get something honestly would have been a good start in my opinion.

Winning is everything? The ends justify the means? Cheating is okay as long as you get what you want? Lying is okay? I don't buy her claim that she "didn't intend to deceive" because she wrote a blatant lie in hopes of winning. Sorry, mother, there is no moral high ground here short of returning the tickets and explaining to your daughter why what you did was wrong.
