I don't know about you but i love yogurt smoothies. It's only on a very rare occasion that I will buy one from a yogurt shop. No offense, but they're just too darn expensive! So, here are some of my yogurt smoothie recipes that I came up with, long befoe smoothies were popular!
Just know I never give exact measurements for these as I feel they should be flexible to satisy the taste of the person who is making them. So, on with the recipes! Just a hint fresh fruit is good, but certain times of the year you need to use frozen fruits, the good part about that is it thickens the smoothie, and makes it cold while not watering it down like when you use ice. You can also put fresh fruit in the freezer for a while before making the smoothies. I know I like my smoothies cold and thick with fruit.
Hawaiian Yogurt Smoothie-
Use your favorite yogurt, and put it into a blender. Add a banana, crushed pineapple, shredded coconut, or coconut extract. Freeze the banana, but not the pineapple. Pineapple does not freeze well. Than add some honey or your favorite sweetner. Blend and put in a nice tall tropical glass. You know the ones they put all those tropical drinks in when you visit Hawaii, or the local bar if your on a budget! The glass really does make it taste better. A sarong is optional, a beach boy is not!
Very Berry Smoothie-
I myself use the frozen mixed berries, that include strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, But go for it, use what ever berries you like. this is your fantasy, not mine! Again, place the yogurt in blender, add the beriies, add honey or sweetner, and whirl! I guarantee it's berry, berry good!
Mocha-Coffee Delight Smoothie-
This recipe is for those that all though they want to be healthy, just cannot live without their caffeine. Like me! Put yogurt in blender, add a few tablespoons of really strong brewed coffee, espresso, if you like, or maybe chocolate flavored coffee. Then add some Hershey's Syrup. This may or may not make the yogurt sweet enough depending on your taste. If needed at honey or sweetner. Then do the Mocha-Java dance, while it's blending. I didn't need to tell your to push the button on the blender did I? Well, for those in need of detailed instruction, you must push the button on the blender in order for it to work. Just kidding, I think!
