jdubhub is...the Birthday Boy

Normally, I would rather fly under the radar for this event, but I have found it useful to review my past year on this planet and think about what I want to accomplish during the next. That's why I don't participate in New Year's resolutions--I have two more weeks until I "need" to commit to something.

For those who don't know, since I know you will click my profile anyway, I am now officially 41 years of age. I am probably older than most Xombies, although not in the oldest bracket certainly.

What has happened with me during my 40th year? I have learned political tolerance to the point where I no longer feel the need to debate other people over differing views for no other reason than I believe their views are "wrong". No, the rancor and acrimony over the 2008 presidential election taught me that there are better things to do with my time than engage in political virtual warfare.

Looking back, also, I wrote some of my best articles to date. My article on How Much Money Do You Want to Make Today? was voted by my peers as one of the best Xombytes of 2008. I was also selected for the first class of the Xomba Hall of Fame.

These are well and good, but I am not going to rest on my laurels. During my 41st year on the planet, I am going to exceed past expectations. I already have a plan in place to be a better father and husband for my immediate family and to be a more supportive member of my extended Xomba family. In the case of Xomba, I have a whole series of articles planned on what we can do to make our lives and those in them more meaningful in the Big Picture.

If I were to pick a theme for my goals for my 41st year, it is SERVICE. Service to my Greatest Good and Service to others, including the success of everyone here on Xomba from Nick all the way to the newest Xombie. Point being, I am being the change I want to see in the world.

Thank you for reading my birthday greeting! Won't you join me in toasting our future success?

EDIT: For those of you who do read my profile page, I am going to be rewriting it this week to reflect who I am today. I realize that much of it is dated now.

Hey, Did I miss the

Hey, Did I miss the Party? Many many happy returns of the Day, Jdub. Hope you had a fantastic birthday and have many more to come...For men Life begins after 40, man..So what are you cribbing about..! Enjoy!

41? You're a mere child!

My god, you were born five years AFTER JFK was assassinated and the same year the Beatles broke up. You know how young that makes you (in my eyes, anyway)? You've got a long way to go, jdubhub. Life is just beginning for you, lucky dog!

Thank you everyone for your well-wishes!

This has been a great day. For those who asked where the party was located, my family and I ate at a steakhouse called Tahoe Joe's in town (I had the t-bone with Gorgonzola, mountain mashers (homemade mashed potatoes laced with black peper), green beans, and a salad of baby greens with champagne vinaigrette). That may be TMI but it was goooood. All in all, everything I could have wished for on my birthday. JOIN US IN TOASTING YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS!

Well now my birthday wishes are so old news

Since the xombies have come out in force already to wish you a happy day! I remember 41, it was a great year all in all. But I have two teens and I know you have a little guy so my advice is to conserve your energy for the future (mis)adventures of a teenage boy! :) Peace, Mia NW Please visit my recent posts here Get paid to be a xombie! So, When's the party?

We may be on opposite sides of the earth, but then, what's a couple of time zones between xombies? jdubhub, Here's wishing you many happy returns of the Day and that may you never feel old. And you won't, unless you stop and start wondering how a particular number is supposed to feel. Have a Happy Birthday. The second drink is on me. Bare Essentials

Congratulations jdubhub

Congratulations on everything you have realized. I have followed quite a few of your posts and comments as a sort of observer. I respect you very much and I look forward to reading more of your post and comments! Free Webhosting Get cashback when shopping

Happy Birthday jdubhub

Happy Birthday! Well, you are not older then this xombie. New Year's resolutions and getting older all in the same month! That's hard! Do you know that the Chinese celebrate 2 birthdays? The day you were conceived (take the birthday, and subtract nine months) and the real birthday, are 2 birthdays. I like that idea!

Happy Birthday jdubhub

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear jdubhub, Happy Birthday to you! (that was a little birthday song for you!) I think you are such an inspirational person, and such a talented writer. I always seek out your articles here and find them so inspiring. I've only been here a short time, but you have quickly become one of my favorites on Xomba. Thanks for your kind comments and support of my work here on Xomba, it is so appreciated! I remember things like 8 track players, vinyl and so forth. I think that was such a wonderful way to grow up, without internet and all these modern gadgets. I wouldn't trade my fond memories of those times for anything! There are lots of over 40 people on Xomba (wink) even if it's not disclosed in our profiles. Age years aren't soul years, you're as young as you feel! I think the forties are fab-we're still so young and vital, but we have all this wisdom now, in this decade. Best wishes, I look forward to all your new stuff on Xomba! http://www.xomba.com/user/allison_west http://www.triond.com/users/Allison+West http://thecommacafe.blogspot.com

This is a good age to be right now!

I'm sure I will look back and think about this time in a few years, but all I can do now is appreciate each day as it arrives. Thanks for your comment! JOIN US IN TOASTING YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS!
