jdubhub is...the Birthday Boy

Normally, I would rather fly under the radar for this event, but I have found it useful to review my past year on this planet and think about what I want to accomplish during the next. That's why I don't participate in New Year's resolutions--I have two more weeks until I "need" to commit to something.

For those who don't know, since I know you will click my profile anyway, I am now officially 41 years of age. I am probably older than most Xombies, although not in the oldest bracket certainly.

What has happened with me during my 40th year? I have learned political tolerance to the point where I no longer feel the need to debate other people over differing views for no other reason than I believe their views are "wrong". No, the rancor and acrimony over the 2008 presidential election taught me that there are better things to do with my time than engage in political virtual warfare.

Looking back, also, I wrote some of my best articles to date. My article on How Much Money Do You Want to Make Today? was voted by my peers as one of the best Xombytes of 2008. I was also selected for the first class of the Xomba Hall of Fame.

These are well and good, but I am not going to rest on my laurels. During my 41st year on the planet, I am going to exceed past expectations. I already have a plan in place to be a better father and husband for my immediate family and to be a more supportive member of my extended Xomba family. In the case of Xomba, I have a whole series of articles planned on what we can do to make our lives and those in them more meaningful in the Big Picture.

If I were to pick a theme for my goals for my 41st year, it is SERVICE. Service to my Greatest Good and Service to others, including the success of everyone here on Xomba from Nick all the way to the newest Xombie. Point being, I am being the change I want to see in the world.

Thank you for reading my birthday greeting! Won't you join me in toasting our future success?

EDIT: For those of you who do read my profile page, I am going to be rewriting it this week to reflect who I am today. I realize that much of it is dated now.

Toasting you back with a lowball of Pepsi Max!

Every year my clock adds another year, but I feel like it is the best age to be for me right then and I certainly don't have to get "older". Living in the now is what life's all about! Thanks for your comment! JOIN US IN TOASTING YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS!

Here's hic-up to a fabulous hic-up 41st!

Tis a bit early for me to be toasting, but such a wonderful occasion deserves a morning toast! Ok, it's really only coffee, but I did put a shot of Cask and Cream in it!! Jdub, I am a proud 42 soon to be 43 and I am still a kid at heart. My joints may complain a bit, but my heart is young! I'm looking forward to your 41st year of writing and your new approach to life. Wooo hoo hoo hoo!! Happy Birthday Jdub! "...Giddy and foolish the whole day through, Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?" Unknown artist MJ - Sending happy thoughts!

Yesterday is a stepping stone for today

I like where I am today, so there's no point in regretting anything that happened yesterday, because anything I "would" have done differently would have changed my path and I wouldn't be here. That doesn't mean I won't make it a point to learn from my past mistakes so I don't repeat them, but I won't get hung up on them. JOIN US IN TOASTING YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS!

That's how I look at it too, mamamia!

There are days here and there--usually following a bad night for my young son--when I wake up and feel like I am seriously hung over, but mostly I live my life today as a continuation of yesterday. Thanks for your comment! JOIN US IN TOASTING YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS!

Past Lives were Nice, But The Best--as Always--Is Yet to Come!

A man so amazing as you[/url, it's good to hear hints at what's comin` up---gets readers itchin` to witness the verbal 'SMACKDOWN'-style fun! I--as all the Xombies- and Dr. Marina are helping me find out--*am* a "mixer" (either a troublemaker or an aid in helping people blend well with one another), and the realities you manifest on the screen are usually of a comfortable consistency for me to get things movin`.---i.e. 'I love the fun I have proving you completely "wrong-ish" lol.' ---[url=http://is.gd/2L8j]Join Us Professional Friends who GET MONEY for Echoing the Universe: 'Bella?' Don't make me chase you, wHATUP

I'm pretty fast with this walker now! Yes, I am old enough to remember Pong, 8-tracks, 78rpm vinyl, rotary-dial phones, and when television was divided into UHF and VHF on black-and-white 13" screens. And I was grateful for it, dammit! LOL Ah, age is only a number. Thanks! JOIN US IN TOASTING YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS!

Ya old ass biatch!

I can't even relate because I'm like, almost a whole year younger than you. I mean gosh 41 is like so over-the-hill old dude. 40 is the new 30 but 41 is like the new 75 or something. I bet you can even remember when tvs didn't have remotes! Hey, wait I can remember that too. Aw, man now I'm bummed! Happy b-day dubsy wubsy! Visit my homepage here

Happy Birthday

I don't think age matters - its how you live each day that matters. So here's wishing you full and fulfilling days in your forties! Join XOMBA, Write, Make Money! My profile Blog

Thank you both...

The funny thing is I don't feel any older. Maybe it's taking care of my soon-to-be 4 year old son full-time that keeps me focused on a younger number or maybe it's because I am still too full of energy and goals and dreams to pay attention to how I "should" feel when my odometer rolls over to another year. The only thing that makes me a little sad is our local classic rock radio station now plays the 80's music I listened to in high school. Other than that, I'm good. Thanks for your comments!
