Ok - I need help. My old 25" RCA is about to go out on me and I need to buy another one.

Problem is I am soooo confused. I read about all the advantages/disadvantages of Plasma vs LCD, 720pvs 108 i vs 1080p, then there is contrast resolution, response time and aspect ratio

What does all of this mean and what should I look for in a tv?

Then there is the problem of where to buy. Obviously I want the best price and a good reliable tv. So where do I buy, Walmart, Sam's Club, Best Buy or online from someone like NewEgg, or Shopzilla

What other things should I consider about the tv.

There are only two things I know:

1) For the size of my living room, I want a minimum 32" screen, although I would be happy with a 37" or 42"

AND

2) I HATE the thought of spending $1000 for a tv.

I thought maybe some of our technology experts could help me out. I would really appreciate it.
