Heart Attack Information
posted July 4, 2009 - 7:52amHeart disease is the number one killer disease in the world right now. When a person suffers a heart attack, the heart muscles and tissues does not received enough oxygen or is completely not receiving oxygen. Most common caused of this is block in the vessels that supply blood to the heart muscles. When there are plenty of muscles that are affected the heart will eventually stop causing death.
Often lifesaving effort if given early can save a persons life. But the important thing is to recognize the signs and symptoms of heart attack.
Be aware of the following:
- chest pressure at the center of the chest
- squeezing pain that last longer than a few minutes or pain that goes and come back again
- pain spreading to the jaw, shoulders, neck, back
- dizziness, sweating, nausea
- shortness of breath
It is very important that a person experiencing these problems should call the ambulance service right away. As I have mentioned, often lifesaving treatments are effective when started immediately.
If you encounter someone complaining of these signs and symptoms and keep the person calm and position him or her in the most comfortable position.
A knowledge in CPR would also come in handy. For more information on CPR, CLICK HERE and learn how to save lives!
