Help! does God want me to prosper?

Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospers (3 John 2).
What is true prosperity? Some may say money, but would you want money without the health to enjoy it? some would say health, but a healthy person who cannot pay their bills or enjoy the finer things of life is not very appealing neither. Well what about ones soul? (mind will emotions). Many Christians today know that God wants them born again and wants them well physically because of Christs'finished work on the cross, but they are not so sure about if it's his will that they have money. How does a parent provide for their family? well of course they need a job or they must be self employed in order to recieve money to buy family neccesities. If Our heavenly Father did not want his people to prosper, then it would be unfair for him to place in his word the bible...he that provideth not for his own, and specially for those of his own house he hath denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever (1Timothy 5:8). This scripture alone shows God's concern about his people having money or otherwise he would be contradicting himself, and we know that's an impossibility. What God is concerned about is money not having the Christian, in other words He wants us to trust him and not our money. The best way to protect against greed is to become a giver, and the more you give, the more will come back to you so you can give again, and this creates a cycle of blessing that never stops. Yes God does want the Christian to prosper but to the degree that their soul prospers. People who have not heard the bible taught on the area of health do not know God wants them well, likewise those who have not been taught that God wants them to have wealth, cannot tap into God's system of wealth because its even as ones soul prospers. Thats why Hosea 4:6 says that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge .
