The 2009 Robert Half International Salary Guide showed that careers in IT, Businees, and Law are among the fields that will top the list of careers in the coming year. It is important to know which careers will encounter the most growth, with high starting salaries and of course with best opportunities.
With respect to technology, the following are of great demand:
 
·         Windows administration
·         Network administration
·         Desktop support
·         Database management.
 
This skills actually have something in common. They all can be learned in an associate’s or bachelors degree program online. Yes you read it right. “Online”. This seems to be the trend nowadays.
There are also those that requires career training and creative careers that will certainly provide you high starting salaries.
 
·         Desktop publisher
·         Graphic designer
·         Motion graphics specialist
 
Another option would be freelancing. As long as you are creative, then there is always the opportunity.
