Hillary Clinton - Hedging, Dodging, and Spinning
posted October 28, 2007 - 11:49am"You should hedge, dodge and spin, but at all costs, don't answer." Thus came the barrage against Senator Hillary Clinton. No; the verbal assault wasn't from Rudy Giuliani. Nor was it from any of the other Republican presidential candidates.
Sen. Barack Obama, the seemingly mild mannered Democratic presidential candidate lashed out at Hillary with those words in Des Moines, Iowa.
The statement came when Sen. Obama criticized Clinton for ducking the issue of Social Security solvency. Not long ago it was the same Obama who refused to even show a hint of criticism toward the lady from New York. Now; he is not only attacking her policy but throwing darts at her character.
Sen. Obama has even challenged Clinton on her allegiance in sports. Clinton is not a New York native and only moved there after she intended to run for Congress. Hillary is actually an Illinois native. Obama challenged her to tell Americans if she would root for the New York Yankees or the Chicago Cubs if both were playing in the World Series (The correct answer would have been the Colorado Rockies; a typical Hillary dodge).
Even with Hillary's lack of focus on the real issues, she is a very adept politician who knows how to play the game.
My Take: I'm with Obama. Hillary should be the sales manager of a large firm; not President of the United States.
