Hip Hop Malfunction

Hip Hop Malfunction….

What in The Lord’s Good name Happened?? I mean seriously. Does anyone remember the Gangsta days of N.W.A.? Or how about the Days of “A Tribe Called Quest” maybe “Gangstarr” how about “Rhakim, Diggable Planets, Alkaholics, Tupac, Digital Underground, Biggie, etc…”
That my friends is Real Hip Hop. This nonsense going on right now is baffling to me. Paul Wall (whatever his name is) Pitbull, and just about anyone else you hear on the radio is ridiculous. I mean seriously…. What is the reason for them having an actual record deal and radio play? What happened? Why is there not a filter for any form of substance? I know back in the days it was still about making money, and I get that much, but WOW! I can NOT think of one NEW artist in the last THREE years (maybe longer) that has ANY form of Talent??? Coming from an “aspiring” Hip Hop Artist, this might not mean much to you guys, but it DISGUSTS me.
What happened to getting on stage and giving an “actual performance”? Not just handing everyone you know a Mic and distorting every single word that comes out of your mouth so NO ONE can understand a word you’re saying. There’s no entertainment in their shows. PERIOD. You are NOT artists. I can’t even say you’re Lyricsits cuz you never have anything CLEVER to say. Yet and still, you somehow manage to make a great living and Floss like you’re doing something important. I’m not hatin’ bout the money you makin’ but Damn people quit frontin cuz you ain’t doin Nuthin!
For now I leave it at this, and to you so called Artists….As Tupac so dearly quoted … “You think you deep in the Game but you got tha rules Missin”.

Thank You!!

Good Lord, thank you! The nonsense that we're constantly force-fed on the radio is absolutely nauseating. If I have to hear another song by that infernal T-Pain...I MAY JUST GO ON A KILLING SPREE!!!! Whatever happened to the days when people wrote lyrics that made sense. Case in point, "This is why I'm hot": "I'm fly cuz I'm hot. You ain't cuz you not"... Really, profound stuff right here. What happened to writing a real love song. You know, a song that praised a woman, wanted to make her feel like a beautiful creature, the reason the man fell in love in the first place? What's with diminsihing a woman's worth with an elementary school grading scale from 1 - 10? Example: "Short is a Ten". It's diabolical and not even clever. Please, someone, save us from this madness!!!

Listen

RAP is scared like a motherfuckers.

Milan Grbic

gotta listen to more

gotta listen to more underground. the radio is and always has been pure shit. but the coup, dead prez, mos def, mf doom, lady sovereign, talib kweli, blackalicious, kanye west, common, pharaohe monch... a million others... are still keeping real hip-hop alive.

True....

Tupac will be good for another 5 years "minimum". lol! I wouldn't put 50 up there like that. Granted I think he makes some good music, I don't think he's real about alot of stuff. Pac lived what he said. You could see it in his actions, attitude, and overall demeanor.
Mos Def, Tight! that's all I can say.
I still believe to this day that Daz & Korupt young Goddi are the G'est on the scene right now. Nobody comes off like they do... What can I say tho... I'm from the West Coast, gotta Love dat West Coast! Ice Cube, E-40, Dawg Pound, etc...
I get SICK and Tired of that nonsense I see on BET and MTV on a daily basis. There's no skill involved, the soul of this Art has been diminished, and our culture has definitely been treated like a Harlot.(Yes, I'm aware that I was just talking about West Coast Gangsta Rap)
These supposed Artists need to step down and let real Poets take the Mic... Unfortunately at this point, no Major Label or Record company is looking for talent and skill.... They only look at marketability.... It's sad....

Yeah, the days of N.W.A. and

Yeah, the days of N.W.A. and Public Enemy (in their prime) are behind us. But we've still got Mos Def and 50.

And you can always count on Pac to put out another new album for at least the next 5 years...
