In the summer of 1938 Carl E. Stotz began bringing together Williamsport, Pennsylvania neighborhood kids and started to plan out his idea for a boy's baseball program.

In 1939 Little League Baseball was born with three teams. The teams were sponsored by Lycoming Dairy, Lundy Lumber, and Jumbo Pretzel and the team managers were Carl Stotz (the founder), George and Bert Bebble.
