Holiday Safety Tips for Shopping with Children--Important!

Shopping with children--especially Christmas shopping--involves a certain amount of risk because you are taking them out into the public, which is comprised of total strangers. The good news is there are ways to minimize those risks if you have a plan in place and that plan is understood by everyone before you head out the door.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has created a simple checklist of six simple safety tips to keep you and your children safe during your shopping trip. Please read the list and discuss it with your children today.

You are right!

Yes, I agree it's hard to shop for some things on-line like books. How do you know you will like that new novel unless you read the first page, and maybe the last? And for the life of me, I can't figure out how people buy perfume on-line without smelling it first! I don't like perfume anyway it makes me sneeze! But if you live in a rural area, or your kids are too small, or sick to take out, then shopping by phone, or on-line is the way to go!

Online Shopping cannot completely replace store shopping

There are some things that lend themselves well to being shopped for and purchased online. Other things, like clothing, or anything that requires first-person comparisons won't work unless the shopper can actually hold the product in his or her hands. There are some decisions that must be made with more information than a photo on a computer (or television) screen.

On-Line Shopping, Shop From Home!

Check out www.qvc's website. You don't have to order on-line, you can also call in, and use the phone! And you don't have to take your kids out to shop. You can shop from the safety, and comfort of your own home. http://www.xomba.com/shop_qvc_for_christmas_decorations_christmas_cookware_food_and_christmas_gifts
