Tonight we just had to have pizza. But, not just any pizza! Another fresh and tasty homemade gourmet pizza made with love. This is an easy recipe and I am sure you'll love it as much as we did tonight.

A Little Slice of Heaven
A Little Slice of Heaven

For this recipe you will need:
- 1C of Water
- 2 1/2C White Flour
- 1/2C Wheat Flour
- 2Tbls Yeast
- 2Tbls Olive Oil
- 1Tsp Sugar
- 1Tsp Salt
- 1/4C Parsley
- Sprinkle of Garlic Powder
- Sprinkle of Italian Herbs

Before we begin, lets ask ourselves; "What is pizza, but a well made bread dough, with some great toppings?" This is true of all great pizzas. They begin with a solid, tasty foundation of crust. The crust for this recipe is an Italian bread crust.

Let us begin. Preheat your oven before you begin to 400 degrees.

Combine the above ingredients in a bowl (use a mixer and dough hook if you have them) if not, mix with a wooden spoon and then by hand as it thickens up. Add a bit of flour at the end to make it easy to handle without sticking to your hands.

Once the dough is formed place it on your pizza stone and roll it out to the edges. (If you don't have one you can bake it on a large cookie sheet.)We used a Pampered Chef round pizza stone and it works beautifully for all of our baking needs. I love stoneware.

Once you've rolled it out, use a small brush and baste the outside edge of the dough with some olive oil.

Next, pop open a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce (sorry, we don't have time for a sauce from scratch right now) and ladle about 1/4 of the jar into the center of the dough. Now spread it out in a circular pattern using the bottom of your ladle.

Time to add your cheese, spread it evenly across the pizza, 12oz of cheese is more than enough as you'll see in the pictures below, you could probably get by with between 8-10oz.

TIP(How to quickly measure out the cheese: If you have a 2 pound brick of mozzarella cut it in half, now take the half and cut it into quarters. Take 3 of the quarters and drop them in your food processor with the chopping blade installed and viola 12oz of cheese ready for pizza making.)

Lastly, add your favorite toppings. In this case we topped our pizza off with some pepperoni, chopped olives and about a third of a yellow onion.

Place the pizza in your oven for about 20 minutes. Until outer crust is a dark brown. Then remove, cut, and enjoy!

One More Quick Tip!

Thank you all so very much!! When using this dough recipe if you want a thinner crust you can seperate it in half and roll it out to make two thinner crust pizzas! Also, if you want to up the flavor a little more, you can add about 1/2c of shredded mild cheddar cheese to the dough. FreeCracker4Jack Would you like to earn money writing similar articles? good

When I lived over in Davis I made a lot of homemade pizza, and to keep from heating up the house I baked it on the gas grill. It worked great. KM
