A simple piece of chewing gum can reduce that burning feeling once you have heartburn and can even prevent you from
getting heartburn if you only suffer from occasional bouts of heartburn when eating certain foods.
Heart is caused when there is a backwash of stomach acid that enters the esophagus, throat and mouth. Chewing gum stimulates and increases the production of saliva from the saliva glands in your mouth, the saliva neutralizes the stomach acid. The more saliva going down, the less effect the stomach acid backwash can have on you.
Sugarless gum of any flavor seems to work the best to prevent or reduce heartburn. Immediately after eating, chew gum for 30 minutes and see if it will prevent or reduce an attack of heartburn for you.
