Home Security Do's and Dont's

Home Security and Wireless Security Systems

Home security is a very important subject to any homeowner.

Protecting your home is really all about the details. There are many things you can do to improve the security of your home--things that often go overlooked.

Here is a list of several things you should be aware of when thinking of home security. These are things you can do easily and cheaply to make your house safer.

Home Security do's: simple things you can do to improve your security.

Replace broken locks today. Don't put it off until tomorrow.

Make sure all windows shut properly and the locks are in good shape.

Trim your hedges. Overgrown shrubs and trees create places for people to hide when casing your house. Don't give them the opportunity.

Do not use a hide-a-key. These are usually very easy to find. They are in obvious places. Don't use one of these. Also do not keep an extra key in your car--and always lock your car when in your driveway.

Use a deadbolt lock on your door.

Think about purchasing a wireless security system for your house. Wireless security systems can be purchased for around $200 for lower end brands, but they often work quite well. They are also easier to install than traditional "hard-wired" security systems.
