I just saw this on the stock photos. The photo is from the Library of Congress. I had wondered if that was a true story. The attached article tells the story of Comanche, the horse that survived Custer's Last Stand. He was with the cavalry.

He was left because the reins were still attached to the soldier and they thought it would be bad medicine to shoot the horse the Indians.

He went on to live a long life. I think it's very interesting. It is too bad for the rest of
them.

I remember this from the Disney movie with Sal Mineo. I think that may have been different. I don't remember it now. I think he was playing an Indian.
