Hot Tips For Making It Through College

Some people could use a little guidance to get through college. The more help you get the better off you will be. If you are going to invest your money, then you are going to want to be prepared so you don't waste it. I am speaking for experience when I give my pointers as to how to succeed when it comes to college. Whether you are in a 4-year College or a Community College the same rules apply.

The most important thing is to sign up early. I can't tell you this enough. Getting accepted is good but if your classes are full then you are out of luck. For example: I signed up for all of my classes a month or two before classes began. I didn't sign up really late at all, but it wasn't early enough. I couldn't get into English because all of the available classes conflicted with my schedule no matter how I moved it around. The key is to sign up for college and you classes as EARLY as possible.

Speaking of early, parking can be a problem. You don't want to be late on your first day because you didn't anticipate having to park on the other side of campus since the parking was tight. Once you have guessed when you should go to class, next you just shoot to arrive 30 minutes earlier. That way you should be able to get a parking spot and if not then you will be okay if you even had to park off campus, or a plane crashes blocking your way to school. Now you will be able to get to class early and meet the teacher and classmates. Get a head start on the class making the rest easier. You can also finish up the homework and maybe get some questions answered.

You should also expect to do at LEAST 2 hours of work at home for every 1 hour you spend in class. You should schedule plenty of time to do homework and study. And, make sure you won't be tired when you are doing school work. You should schedule when you are going to sleep and work carefully. One time to study that is great is in the morning. If you have classes at 'the crack of noon' then you shouldn't mind going to sleep at a reasonable time and studying right after a full nights rest to really absorb the material and remember it longer.

Stay focused and believe you will succeed, there is nothing that great determination and perseverance cant do. Know this.
