I have long been a customer of EBay but to be a seller scared the day lights out of me. I just decided one day to “take the plunge” and though it does have its low points, as with any store, I am now a very happy &ldquo Power Seller”. I am hoping to share all I know with you and get you started in the fun. It is actually so much easier than most people think. This is a good way to make money at home.

To get started it will be necessary to create an account, user name and profile, with EBay. You may eventually want to create a store name but to start, take it slow. Once you have your account with EBay, you will also need to create an account with Pay Pal. It takes just a few minutes and the best secure site you can work with.

Once you have your accounts set up you are now ready to sell. When you get to your account, on the top next to the “Buy Tab” is the “Sell Tab”. This will take you through the entire steps needed to list your first item. Don’t forget to have a price in mind for what you want to sell, investigate shipping costs, and take pictures of your item. People will not want to buy what they cannot see. You will note also that you can list as an auction, starting with a low bid which leaves it open for bidders to keep bidding until the highest bidder wins at auction’s end. You may also opt to list an item as a “Fixed Price”, the price you choose that you want for the item. That is listed as a “Buy It Now” so no matter how long the auctions lasts, a bidder does not have to wait for the auction’s end in order to purchase a “Buy It Now”. I have noted also that listing fees (which I have not discussed as yet) are much less on this form of listing. There are so many buyers and sellers out there, so if you note an item not selling in relatively good time, choose the Buy It Now option to save on fees and you still have your item in the listings. Also, list for the longest period of time allowed to save on the recurring fees. On the other hand, auctions seem to attract more buyers as it is a challenge for them to get the item and possibly at the best price.

I did mention fees. There are some fees for placing a listing, another when your item sells. Of course, EBay has to get their cut. In fact, so does Pay Pal. But there are no upfront costs for Pay Pal. A great asset for Pay Pal also, is that you can create your shipping labels right from their site. Another great asset for listing your items is a site called auctiva.com. I don’t know where I would be without it. It used to be free but now they charge a nominal fee per month. But there is so much you can do with auctiva. And they work in conjunction with EBay. They have hundreds of templates for you to use to make your listings look really nice on EBay. They walk you through the whole process. You also get to upload photos very quickly and easily at no extra cost. A great site, great asset to you on EBay.

I have been taking a little hiatus from EBay these days except for my biggest seller which is Alli Orlistat Weight Loss Aid. I do anticipate adding quite a few items in the near future, especially with the holidays just around the corner. The first step in the listings is to take good photos, figure on a price, shipping costs, and write a good description of the item. Keep most of your listings to the point and you can also give them a little personal affect. People feel a little more at ease when they feel a little friendly connection with the seller, and make it so much better for you, your rapport with them and the all important feedback you get at the end of the sale.
