Create Free Printable Wedding Invitations

In this economy you may need to make your own free printable wedding invitations. Your wedding is coming up and you are very excited. More than likely you have a budget, so with free printable wedding invitations, you can use that extra money for the reception or something for your fiance.

Be creative and make wedding invitations any size, color or shape you desire. For regular size invitations you will need to purchase 8 1/2" by 11" card stock. You can have four wedding invitations on one sheet depending on the size you want and if they will be folded or not. The size of the invitations paper will need to be the size in the page setup of your publisher program.

Find web sites that offer free templates for your wedding invitations. Southworth.com has an extensive gallery of templates from the couple and from the parents of the bride. You can either download the wedding invitations templates or type directly into your publisher or word processor. Wedding clip art is available online also, but you may want to make it personal. A picture of you and your fiance' hands interlocked with the rings on would be perfect.

Choosing the font and layout is the fun part. 1001freefonts.com has many, many different fonts to choose from in one place. The colors of your wedding invitations should match either the wedding or reception theme. Now you can decide how the wedding invitations will look. The right side usually includes the bride/groom name, parents name, location, time and date of wedding. The left side can include a map, a favorite poem or quote or just a picture.

Once your wedding invitations are to your liking, it is time to print them out. You will need to set the printer up to print on both sides(if needed) and also the front of the invitations. If you make your own unique wedding invitations it is possible to make 100 invitations for under $50.00, while commercially produced ones can cost up to 5 times more than that.

Get creative with your wedding invitations. To create an overlay, you will need to purchase translucent vellum. To reveal the background card underneath, use a crisp opaque white to contrast with the darker backgrounds of wedding invitations. Also, invitation stamps or seals are an elegant addition that will look like you paid way more that you actually did.

* Visit craft stores or the links below for your creative needs. You can add ribbons, overlay or even bows to the front of them.

* Make sure you print preview BEFORE you print your wedding invitations. You can use regular paper to make sure it is to your liking first.
