Nothing in this world is eternal and relationships are not an exception. There are certain symptoms when a relationship is dead and very often when these symptoms are present, it is much better to end the relationship peacefully than to try to keep it artificially alive. Breakup is painful but being tied in an unhappy relationship isn't better.
