The Hollywood area is the prime spot. It is a nice hilly place with great scenery all around. There are great restaurants in the area if you like dining at night. Sunset drive is the place to cruise if you are in the Hollywood area at night. It is a place filled with night life. There are clubs, great luxurious restaurants, bars and shops all along the Sunset strip. Make sure you don't cruise around Sunset area too much. The police will issue you a citation for obstruction of traffic if they spot your car cruising more than twice.

Universal Studios is a theme park and a great place to see. They have the most fabulous and fun rides. It is a great place to enjoy both for young children and adults. The theme park is located on a mountainous terrain and displays a great sight from top down. Their train ride which takes you to the studios is the best one.

Disneyland is the most famous place in Southern California. It is the world's most famous theme park. The rides are amazing and the kids love this place filled with their favorite cartoon characters.

Sea World is another great attraction in San Diego. It is the world's largest water park. The amphibian show at sea world is monumental. The Shark and the Dolphin shows are most famous amongst kids. The ocean museum at the Sea World has the rarest and most extravagant species of animals and plants on display.

California is known for its beaches. If you are in California, you have to visit them. The rated most beautiful beach in California is the Laguna Beach. It has nice hilly coves and pure sandy beach with sparkling water under the sun. There are several picnic points along the coast for people who want to stay there for a while and enjoy the time with their family.

Santa Monica Beach and Malibu Beach is one big spot for surfing and body boarding. If you are a surfer type of a person, this is your time to make the most out of it. The waves are strong and the weather is great. Santa Monica Beach offers a nice trail alongside of the beach for bikers and roller skaters which could be a lot of fun.

Downtown Los Angeles in Southern California is one of the largest business destinations in the world. At night time the scenery is great. You can rent a helicopter ride which will take you all around the downtown area. This could be an excellent choice of a romantic gesture if you are trying to impress a significant other.

If you love arts, there is a famous art museum with great paintings called Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Another great museum is the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. It provides great information on history of dinosaurs and mammoths. One unique and the most beautiful museum in southern California is the Getty Museum. It is located up on the Getty Center Mountains and portrays a marvelous outlook of Greek and California architecture.

Southern California is home for some of the most greatest educational institutions in the world. Amongst these are University of California Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Loyola University and Pepperdine University to name a few. Visiting these institutions is very inspiring. Some of the buildings in these universities are almost a hundred years old.

Catalina Island trip to the Catalina Island which is located west of the New Port Beach provides a nice and pleasant trip to the habitats of nature. You will see farm animals on the island and several different other creatures native to the island itself. They also have opportunities for scuba divers to check out the coral reef in the region around the island. The tour bus which takes you all the way around the island and finally up on the roof top of the mountain is a great opportunity to see the whole island. It takes you on top of a mountain where you visit the Catalina Island Museum and the only airport there is.
